About
I’m Dr. Pamela Hood. I teach Ancient Greek philosophy and the Philosophy of Religion at San Francisco State University. This is my personal blog on, and sometimes about, the Introduction to Philosophy course I teach at SFSU. The Spring 2010 the class is around 160. It’s supposed to be 130, but is a Gator professor supposed to turn Baby Gators away, especially when they want to study Philosophy?
The views on this blog are my own and do not represent the views of the State of California, San Francisco State University, the Philosophy Department, my TA’s or my students.
I realize this is a bit of a contradiction, but this semester I’m not making my course materials accessible to the whole wide world web. But that doesn’t mean I don’t want to hear from you.
“We” (really I) have a nascent Twitter account dedicated to this course (@socratesking). The idea was/is to Tweet about things that reminded me of Socrates or King. My own Twitter account is @profhood.
I welcome your comments here on this blog and on Twitter. I only ask that you be aware, as I try to be, that the students in this class are undergraduates. In the Fall semesters most of them are only 12 weeks out of high school. Please respect my “thought workspace” and theirs.
